Hi,
When I play 3D movies I get the two images side by side (like in the web player). Each small square has its correct aspect ratio of 16:9 and the full picture has the aspect ration of 32:9 (2 x 16:9). When the TV is put in the correct 3D mode the full picture is still 32:9, so the picture is severely squeezed. The reason for this seems to be that Plex is sending the wrong resolution and aspect ratio to Apple TV in the first place.
What should be sent for the TV to understand this is a full 16:9 picture where each if the two images occupy 8:9 (half) of the image each. The TV can then divide it in two and stretch them appropriately (which is what it does).
The Apple TVs capabilities seems irrelevant, because if Plex was sending the picture as suggested this would all work. Is there a server setting or a future update to the server or Plex client for Apple TV planned that will fix this?
Am I the only one with this issue? Are others capable of viewing 3D content in 3D on their Apple TVs?
