Some changes introduced in tvOS 10 (and iOS 10) can affect users who have network setups that enforce DNS Rebind Protections. In these cases, the app will be unable to resolve the secure connection for playback, which will cause many types of playback to fail immediately. We're working to fully resolve the issue in a future app release, but in the meantime there are some workarounds you can try.
The current workaround possibilities, in order of preference:
- Make an exception in your DNS Rebind Protection setup (see How to Use Secure Server Connections)
- Temporarily disable "Direct Play" in
Settings > Allow Direct Playin the app - Temporarily disable secure connections in your server:
Settings > Server > Network > Secure connections > Disabled(this one is definitely not encouraged as it would negatively affect all of your apps, not just iOS/Apple TV)
