Hello.
I am having an issue with the Plex apps when watching a TV Show with SRT subtitles: the CPU consumption rises from 6% to 96%.
Here's a test case:
NAS Synology DS916+ with Plex media server 1.1.4.2757
The Flash (2014) 1080p x265 with SRT subtitles available within the mkv file (no external, no burn in then)
When I start the show, with NO subtitles, the NAS goes to 29% and plays smoothly. Everything is so cool, Plex is sooo lovely.
When I activate the SRT subtitles, the NAS reach a 96% and is able to play 5sec by 5sec sequences.
I thought this was coming from some burn-in operations, searched on plex forums and found that this was it, but things changed a bit since the initial articles were posted.
As of today, from what I understand, Plex is now able to disable SRT/ASS burn-in and treats them right (and as it should) ONLY AND OOOONLY for HTML5 clients? So that it means, no Plex app can do that too? (Xbox, iOS, etc.)
Can't believe this can be, I must have missed something... Could anyone help me to find and set up what I did wrong on the settings perhaps?
In the case Plex effectively forgot this functionnality, when could we hope for a fix? :(
Thanks!!
